Insomniac, the creators of Electric Daisy Carnival, have partnered with CODEMKRS (the creators of hackathons and incubators at festivals like SXSW and Outside Lands) to create the EDC TriHackathon the an EDC Innovation experience that builds on the success of its EDMBiz Conference and Expo.

Electronic Dance Music itself is a product of artists and innovators constantly pushing limits of technology. EDM and Technology are tied together at the hip yet until now there hasn't been a forum for hackers and artists to meet and create together or for each other. Hackathoners are the insomniac's of the innovation world staying up all through the night to make new things so it makes sense that Insomniac's is doing this their slogan is Wide Awake Since 1993 afterall.

You are encouraged to come and hack a new project from scratch using your favorite APIs alongside our Leverage Partners which include Facebook, Uber, Ticketmaster, Aloompa and Consensys (the Blockchain specialists). A brand new API developed internally by EDC itself will also be unveiled at the event which will allow for things like chat bots and live stream hacks.

Startups are also encouraged to join in the fun if your technology can improve the EDC experience for attendees, artists or the festival or if your technology is something EDM artists and their fans might be able to use.  For startups to be eligible, you are required to register and create an EDC theme for your technology if not a full on integration.

Finalists will then demo their work at the first ever EDM Demo Day to investors and attendees of EDMbiz, the worlds largest EDM conference.  Josh Constine editor of TechCrunch will be the MC of the EDM Demo Day. Josh will also be mentoring teams live on Facebook to give them advice on what has already been built and what EDM fans want.

The winner will become part of the official EDC app giving them the ultimate prize : instant distribution to the 400,000 attendees of the festival!! This opportunity makes this more than just a typical hackathon… it is a place to find your product’s first 100,000 users AND for the EDM industry to discover you and your technology :)
